Hobart in Autumn

Hobart in Autumn

Tasmania in autumn as I discovered very quickly can be very cold but also very warm at the same time. A strange combination of cold air and hot sun. Nothing that a hot cup of coffee can’t fix. Nevertheless it’s one of the best places to witness the autumn colors.

The aim of this trip was to spend some time in Hobart, relax and do a bit of autumn photography. Some of these goals were achieved.

Hobart is a great base for exploring the southern part of Tasmania. First of all, around the city there are many beautiful scenes waiting to be photographed.

Second, within 1-2 hs drive from Hobart there are some impressive photo locations like Derwent Valley, Huon Valley, Bruni Island, and some other random places we’ve stopped along the way. In the following posts I’ll show some of these scenic locations.
